Sree Ramuni Daya chetanu

This blog gives word-word meaning and  English translation of Sumathi Satakam. Baddena Bhupala wrote 100 moral imparting two-line poems. These are similar to "Do-He"(literally meaning two-lined verses) by Kabir and Rahim in Hindi. A detailed critique of the nature, and content of Sumati Satakam can be found at Adluri Seshu Madhava Rao's blog[5,6].

"Sumati" means "good-minded" one., i.e. one who can learn when he is told morals, with examples, and similes. Satakam is a hundred.

 This poem is probably the first poem of the satakam (hundred) which Baddena Bhupala wrote. He describes the content, and nature of his satakam.

శ్రీ రాముని దయ చేతను నారూఢిగా సకల జనులున్  ఔరా యనంగా
ధారాళమైన నీతులు నోరూరగ జవులుపుట్ట నుడివెడ సుమతి
Sree rAmuni dayacEtanu nArUDhiga sakala janulu naurA yanagA
dhArALamaina neetulu nOrUraga@m javulu puTTa nuDiveda sumatee

Word-Word:
శ్రీ రాముని Sri ramuni = Sri Rama's;దయDaya= grace; చేతనున్ chetanun= by the means of;
ఆరూఢిగాaarudhiga=with certainty, with praise; సకలsakala= all; జనులున్janulun=people,  ఔరా Oura=Wow, an exclamation of wonder!!;యనంగా Ananga=as say
ధారాళమైనDharaLamaina=which is free flowing; నీతులుneetulu= morals;
నోరూరగ nooruraga=mouth water; to wish; జవులుపుట్టjavuluputta(chavuluputta)=creating taste; నుడిnuDi=word, promise; వెదviDa= sow; సుమతి sumati= good minded, wise one;
Meaning:
Sri Rama's grace's through,
with certainty/praise all people  say Oura (with wonder)
(such) free flowing morals
that make one to wish (for more) and create taste, such words (I) will sow, wise one

Discussion:
By Sri Rama's grace he( Baddena) is going to sow free-flowing morals. What is their nature? They will cause all the people to say "wow!" with wonder ( some self confidence of Baddena, :)) and praise. They will make one wish for more by creating a taste.

Any comments that would help in better understanding of this poem are highly appreciated.
